Stages of Menopause

Perimenopause
The period leading up to menopause is known as perimenopause and is marked by a decrease of estrogen, which results in changes in your menstrual
cycle. You many have longer or shorter periods than normal, or you may begin to skip periods.

Menopause
Menopause occurs when a woman stops having menstrual periods and marks the end of childbearing years. The average age of menopause in the United
States is 51.

While menopause symptoms are different for everyone, the most common signs of menopause are:

  • Hot flashes – sudden rush of heat to the upper body and face. Hot flashes often cause you to blush and break out in a sweat.
  • Sleep Problems – including trouble falling asleep or staying asleep. Hot flashes can also disrupt sleep.
  • Vaginal Changes – decreases in testosterone and estrogen can cause vaginal dryness and pain during sex.
  • Urinary Tract Changes – you may need to urinate more often and
    experience more urinary tract infections.
  • Bone changes – menopausal women are at greater risk of bone loss (osteoporosis and osteopenia).
  • Risk factors – decreases in hormones can put women at higher risk of heart attack and stroke.
  • Fatigue
  • Mood swings
  • General depression
  • Brain fog and poor concentration
  • Weight gain and decreased muscle tone
  • Low libido

The Fem-Shot

Are You Embarrassed or Anxious About Your Intimate Performance?

The Fem-Shot uses your own blood to stimulate growth factors in the platelets within your blood to regenerate blood supply and nerve tissue.

PRP, or platelet rich plasma, is rich in bioactive proteins to stimulate growth factors and cellular regeneration. It is a therapy first used for wound healing, sports injuries, and dentistry. Now it has evolved to help sexual dysfunction disorders.

Our bodies have the ability to heal themselves, and the platelet rich plasma is created from your own blood. It is safe, effective, and can stimulate cell regeneration without complications, risks, or any surgery.

The actual therapy involves taking a small amount of your blood, running it through a centrifuge to separate out the concentrated platelets, and then injecting them into the penis and penile area with a tiny needle. Nobody likes needles and so we use a topical anesthetic to numb each of the five areas injected. There is no pain. You may feel pressure which subsides within a couple seconds.

There is virtually no downtime. You can go back to your usual activities except for sexual intercourse for the initial and following day.

FAQ

One of the most exciting areas of research in medicine involves making the most of the initial healing stages: inflammation and an increase in cells, or cell proliferation. Regenerative medicine uses your body’s natural healing resources to help regrow, repair, or replace damaged or diseased cells, organs or tissues. The four main types of regenerative therapy are prolotherapy, platelet-rich plasma (PRP), cartilage regeneration, and stem cell therapies.

Erectile Dysfunction (ED) is the persistent inability to achieve or maintain an erection sufficient for satisfactory sexual performance.

The male sexual response cycle could be divided into its three component parts: libido (desire), erectile function, sexual activity. All kinds of factors such as psychological factors, surgery and trauma, vascular diseases, neurological factors, etc. can cause ED as long as they affect any part of the sexual response cycle. In addition, there are various implicated risk factors for SD in men such as altered lifestyle, stressful living conditions, various chronic diseases, diverse environmental pollutants and several drug side effects.

ED often involves a combination of vascular, neurological, endocrinological, and psychological factors, and so the condition is not limited to elderly men. Other risk factors such as cardiovascular disease, hypertension, diabetes, hypercholesterolemia, and smoking have been strongly associated with an increased prevalence of ED.

Normally, the blood supply to the penis originates predominantly from the internal pudendal artery, which branches into the penile artery. The penile artery then branches into the cavernous arteries. The cavernous artery enters the cavernous body and subsequently divides into many branches called the helicine arteries, which open into the cavernous sinuses. Blood in the cavernous sinuses is drained by the subtunical veins that form the venous plexuses just beneath the tunica albuginea and then returns to the circulation via 3 sets of veins; the superficial, intermediate and deep veins.

In patients with erectile dysfunction, the main issue is insufficient blood flow to the penis. Blood flow is cut off or inadequate due to insufficient opening inside the vessel to allow more blood flow due to plaque build up. This is caused by a variety of factors listed above.

  1. Medications
    1. A class of agents known as type-5 phosphodiesterase (PDE5) inhibitors have become the first-line therapy for ED, as recommended by the American Urological Association (AUA) and the European Association of Urology (EAU). These include oral medications such as Phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE5) inhibitors: Sildenafil (Viagra), tadalafil (Cialis), vardenafil (Levitra), and avanafil (Stendra).
    2. The 3 most commonly used medications for injection therapy are Trimix, Bimix, and papaverine. Most men begin injection therapy with Trimix, which is a mixture of 3 ingredients: alprostadil, phentolamine, and papaverine. These ingredients work by relaxing the smooth muscle and opening the blood vessels in your penis, causing an erection.  Must be stored in the refrigerator. Side effects reported were pain, priapism, bruising, and curvature or the penis.
  2. Vacuum-Constriction Devices
  3. Prosthetic Implants
  4. Intraurethral Suppositories
  5. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy

Safe and Effective Bioidentical Pellet Therapy
for Men & Women

Bioidentical Pellet Therapy offers many benefits to women and men over traditional Hormone Replacement Therapies. Bioidentical Pellet Therapy uses hormones that are bioidentical, this means the hormones are the exact same molecular structure as the naturally occurring human hormones. Bioidentical hormones are found in nature and are derived from plants. This implies that Bioidentical Pellet Therapy uses hormones that are more natural than those often prescribed by conventional physicians. In addition, bioidentical pellet therapy offers a convenience benefit as the pellets remain in the body and release a steady state of hormones that the body requires. In comparison other hormone replacement therapy options can be inconsistent in their delivery resulting in a roller coaster effect in many women and men.

We Offer a Variety of Regenerative Medicine
Treatment Options

Can change the trajectory of your intimate health?

Yes! Regenerative Medicine is focused on developing and applying new treatments to heal tissues and organs and restore function lost due to aging, disease, damage or defects.

When injured or invaded by disease, our bodies have the innate response to heal and defend. The field of regenerative medicine focuses on restoring structure and function of damaged tissues and organs. Regenerative medicine goes beyond disease management to search for and discover therapies that support the body in repairing, regenerating and restoring itself to a state of well-being.

What’s the Difference Between Regenerative & Rejuvenative Medicine

Rejuvenative Medicine is a way to define the ultimate goal of providing new energy and revitalizing an individual’s quality of life by using regenerative medicine.

Meet Owner and Nurse Practitioner, Sharyn L. Cass

Sharyn L. Cass, ANP-C is an Adult Medicine Nurse Practitioner in Hamburg, NY. Ms. Cass has over 15 years of experience in the healthcare field.

“My ultimate goal in healthcare is to promote confidence, personal growth, and foster intimacy and love in relationships. Suffering from urinary incontinence, sexual displeasure, and erectile dysfunction (ED) is frustrating, embarrassing and disempowering for a great many of people who experience it. Who do men and women turn to when previous treatments do not work or are not available? Who can men and women speak to when they are embarrassed to discuss the matter with another medical provider? In my experience during my healthcare career, sexual issues that are brought to a patient’s medical provider are solved with a referral to GYN or urology or given medications and, still, their issues are unmet. Who can you turn to? Me. My treatments work. I focus on the entire human being. I give 110% care to all my patients, because EVERYONE deserves a life lived with joy, confidence, and happiness.”
